National Center for Missing & Exploited Children

Start Raising

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) was established in 1984 to help find missing children, reduce child sexual exploitation, and prevent child victimization. NCMEC provides services for families, victims, child-serving professionals, schools, law enforcement, private industry, and communities to help prevent abducted, endangered, and sexually exploited children and to deter and combat exploitation. Pursuant to its mission NCMEC serves as a clearinghouse of information relating to missing and exploited children, operates a CyberTipline, provides technical assistance and resources to law enforcement in cases of domestic and international child abduction, provides family support, and offers extensive training and outreach programs on child safety.
