The Citizens Foundation, USA (TCF-USA) is a professionally managed tax-exempt charity, with a support network of volunteer chapters across the USA. We support the building of civil society in Pakistan by providing quality education to underprivileged children, promoting gender equality & partnering for reform of public education. We believe that education is a basic human right. Universal access to education is a prerequisite for democratic institutions to flourish in Pakistan and for its people to compete in a global economy. TCF currently has 1,833 schools in all the provinces of Pakistan with 280,000 children enrolled, nearly half of them girls. TCF has trained and employed 13,000 women as teachers and principals, making it the largest employer of women in the private sector. TCF also provides scholarships for tertiary education to the deserving graduates of its' secondary schools and an adult literacy program that has transformed the lives of women.
