FamilyAid's mission is to empower parents and caregivers facing homelessness to secure and sustain housing and build strong foundations for their children’s futures. FamilyAid is Greater Boston’s largest organization solely dedicated to children and parents facing homelessness, providing educational and prevention services, emergency shelter, temporary housing, permanent housing placement and support, and comprehensive case management to 4,272 children and parents in FY22. FamilyAid's innovative educational and empowerment model is founded on a two-generational approach designed to disrupt the cycle of poverty and homelessness by ensuring that all family members have the resources and tools they need to be successful and self-sufficient in the long term. FamilyAid serves the lowest-income, unstably housed, and homeless families in the state facing the most complex societal and personal challenges: 94% in communities of color; 75% led by single mothers; 47% children; 34% who speak a first language other than English.
